Accessibility
A site everyone can use
We want every page here to work for everyone, whatever screen, browser or assistive technology you use. If something gets in your way, tell us and we will fix it.
The standard
What we aim for
This site aims to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA, the standard most public websites are measured against.
What we did
How the site was checked
- Every page was run through automated accessibility checks.
- Every page and form was used with a keyboard alone. A skip link leads past the menu, and the focused item is always outlined.
- Pages were checked at phone and desktop sizes, and zoomed in to 200%.
- Form messages, such as an error or a thank you, are announced to screen readers as they appear.
- Text and buttons were checked for contrast against the dark background.
- Animation is switched off for anyone who has asked their device to reduce motion.
